News from Paris Air Show : Lockheed Martin Selects Harris Corporation to Upgrade F-35 Lightning II Mission System Avionics
The new F-35 Lightning II Mission System Avionics will net several significant upgrades:
- Increases F-35 data storage, display processing, and throughput
- Extends Harris’ expertise in ruggedized open systems COTS military avionics technology
- Builds on company’s proven track record with F-35 platform and avionics systems
The technology development phase begins June 2017, followed by a system qualification phase in early 2019, and a subsequent 5-year production contract phase.
