Brevard County, FLORIDA – Pro football legend Fran Tarkenton spoke via video call to more than 60 budding entrepreneurs Wednesday at the Brevard Workforce career center in Rockledge, offering words of wisdom and inspiration.

Mr. Tarkenton, a successful entrepreneur who has launched some 20 companies since retiring from the National Football League, spoke to a full classroom at a Brevard Workforce Biz Launch workshop.
The Biz Launch program meets weekly at the Brevard Workforce career center in Rockledge. Potential entrepreneurs attend to discuss their business ideas and learn valuable tips and insight from successful entrepreneurs from Brevard County and elsewhere.

Mr. Tarkenton hit on several topics during his hour-long discussion, including seven things he said every entrepreneur should know:

  1. The mission of business is to help people
  2. TALK to people, learn from them
  3. There are NO silver bullets
  4. Reinvent yourself everyday
  5. Have a sense of desperation everyday
  6. You learn more from failure than success
  7. You’ve got to work and be smart
