From BizLaunch: Inventor of SaveZme

EntrepreneurHighlightAvery Avery Piantedosi is the owner and managing broker of Space Coast Real Estate One, a residential and commercial real estate firm, as well as the founder and owner of Lifeknight, a technology company that is launching a personal safety software this summer called SaveZme. Avery has been highlighted in FloridaToday and on Fox35 for SaveZme. We had the opportunity to catch up with her to find out more about her software and her personal entrepreneurial journey.

1. What ignited the spark in you to start your business?
I decided to create SaveZme after facing a potentially life threatening situation while showing a townhome to a stranger. I decided, then and there, that I needed something to protect me while on the job. There was nothing on the market that was available so I created the product I wanted.

2. What motivates you?
What motivates me is the idea that I can change the world and have an impact on people’s well-being. Saving just one person from a horrible experience would be enough, but the idea of being able to help a large number of people is the most motivating factor and is what keeps me going.

3. How do you define success?
I define success as having a life you are happy with and proud of living. That’s not to say that life is perfect or that you won’t have bad days. But creating a life you enjoy, both in your career and personal life, that’s success to me.

4. What would say are the five key elements for starting and running a successful business?
The five key elements to starting and running a successful business would be 1) Having an entrepreneurial personality. If you are the type who needs stability and a regular paycheck, starting a business is probably not for you 2) Realizing that it isn’t going to be easy and that you are going to face defeat but persevering anyway 3) having a realistic idea as far as what your business is going to accomplish in the world and the steps you are going to need to take to get there, this would include a business and marketing plan 4) Research, research, research! Not only your competitors but the market, your prospective customers and the real need for your business 5) A great team of advisors who have more experience than you do. No one knows it all and no one can do it all! Realizing this will save you a lot of grief in the long run.

In the next few weeks, Avery will be conducting a focus group around the SaveZme software involving some of our BizLaunch participants. Please join us to beta test a new software that’s never been open to the public. It is a personal safety telly app that was developed by a company located right here in Brevard. Anyone is welcome, no technical background needed. Details to follow!
