The virtual career fair will connect job seekers with local paid apprenticeship programs along Central Florida’s East Coast from the convenience of their computer, phone, or tablet.

“Registered Apprenticeship programs are growing in popularity. For the job seeker, it is an excellent opportunity to learn skills, get an education and grow into a career while earning a paycheck,” says Kathryn Wheeler, Director of Apprenticeship, Florida Department of Education, Division of Career, Technical, and Adult Education. “For the employer, it means hiring workers who are open to learning and growing with the company. It’s a mutually beneficial workforce training model.”

Registrants will learn how they can earn a nationally recognized credential across a variety of occupations in Florida’s rapidly growing industries through apprenticeship, including:

  • Healthcare & Healthcare Technology
  • HVAC & Construction
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Hospitality Management & Culinary Management
  • Advanced Manufacturing

“The Registered Apprenticeship (RA) work-based learning model has become an excellent way for students to receive both classroom training and on-the-job training while earning an income. RA opportunities are growing and becoming available in many different industries allowing both participant and employer a chance to take advantage of these beneficial programs,” says Marci Murphy, President, CareerSource Brevard.

Applicants do not need experience in the chosen field to apply. Representatives from CareerSource and the Florida Department of Education will also be available to answer questions how apprenticeship works and the steps to apply for a program.
