CareerSource Brevard Appoints Gary Sulski as I.T. Sector Strategy Program Manager

Brevard, FL – CareerSource Brevard (CSB), the area authority on workforce development, has named Gary Sulski as its new Information Technology (I.T.) Sector Strategy Program Manager. Funded by the America’s Promise Grant (APG), a $2.38 million dollar grant from the Department of Labor, Sulski’ s efforts will drive CSB’s newest sector strategy centered on the talent needs of Brevard’s I.T. industry.

In his role, Sulski will facilitate the formation of an I.T. Sector Strategy program in collaboration with Brevard’s I.T. employers and education and economic development partners. CSB takes a business first approach to delivering workforce solutions. By listening to the workforce needs of Brevard employers, CSB has proven successes using sector-driven workforce strategies. These strategies are ultimately driven by a consortium of leaders that work towards defining and addressing the industries’ current and long term workforce and talent needs. This four year grant will support a range of industry-driven workforce initiatives including tuition-free education and training.

America’s Promise grant is a four year U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) grant totaling $111 million which was divided between 23 regional workforce partnerships in the United States. CSB and Florida State College in Jacksonville were the only awardees of the American Promise grant in Florida. CSB is partnering with CareerSource Central Florida, a sub grantee, in an effort to collaboratively grow the talent pipeline throughout Central Florida.

“We are extremely pleased to have Gary on board,” said CSB president Marci Murphy. “He comes to us with an extensive background in Business Development, Operations and Marketing in the I.T. Industry. His extensive community and industry relationships, coupled with his experience and expertise will certainly yield grant performance success.”

Most recently, Sulski was the Operations Coordinator for the Melbourne Regional Chamber of Commerce and managed the Space Coast Tech Council (SCTC). He also collaborates with the Florida High Tech Corridor Council and is a SCORE Business Mentor.

The inaugural I.T. Sector Strategy consortium gathering has been scheduled for the first week in February 2018.
