The Propeller Club of Port Canaveral has selected Gary Ledford as the 2019 Maritime Person of the Year and Lori Robinson as 2019 Member of the Year.  The honorees were recognized at the club’s annual fundraiser, Shrimp Feast, which was held on April 12 at Cruise Terminal 5 at Port Canaveral.

Mr. Ledford is a Project Director with Jacobs Engineering.  He has designed or managed the design of every cargo and cruise terminal built at Port Canaveral over the last thirty years.  He is a charter member of the Propeller Club and currently serves on the Board of Governors and the Education Committee.  He routinely hosts students for field trips, career shadow days, and internships.  Ledford has been a Professional Engineer in Florida since 1980 and holds a BSE and MSE from the University of South Florida.  His extensive experience includes repair and restoration of marine facilities and the design of fire-fighting training facilities. The club recognized Ledford for his dedication, leadership, and professional achievement in service to Port Canaveral.

Member of the Year, Lori Robinson, is a Business Liaison with CareerSource Brevard.  She has built a strong relationship between the Propeller Club and CareerSource to help spread the word about maritime industry career opportunities and connecting job seekers with employers.  Ms. Robinson currently serves as the 1st VP of the club and serves on numerous committees including the Education Committee where she helps coordinate field trips to the port for Rockledge High School HELM Maritime Studies students and helps administer the club’s scholarship program.  She is slated to serve as the Propeller Club President in 2020.  In addition to covering the maritime industry for CareerSource, Robinson also has responsibilities for the manufacturing, logistics, hospitality and retail industries.  She obtained a business degree from Lehigh County College in Pennsylvania.   The club recognized Robinson for her dedication and leadership for the club and the port community.
