Recent Data Indicates Growth on the Space Coast

Medical Data Systems Inc., a medical billing collection company headquartered in Vero Beach, recently announced plans to expand with a second operation in Melbourne and a need to hire up to 300 people.  And news like this is becoming more common.

Brevard’s economy is on the rise. The low unemployment rate is trending down, more companies are choosing the Space Coast to expand their business operations, and the Space Coast Association of Realtors is reporting that home prices are continuing to rise.

With this good news comes challenges, including the need for talent attraction.  CareerSource Brevard, the area’s authority on workforce development, is expanding its focus to include talent attraction outside of the local area, working to fill talent gaps for Space Coast companies. The workforce agency launched a multimedia campaign in early March geared toward attracting experienced engineers from outside of Florida.  To date, the campaign has attracted hundreds of engineers asking for more information about jobs on the Space Coast.
