Marci Murphy Announced as New President of CareerSource Brevard
Brevard County, FL– The Board of Directors of CareerSource Brevard (CSB) has officially named Marci Murphy as the new President of CareerSource Brevard, the area authority on workforce development. As President, Murphy is ultimately responsible for all areas of management and an operating budget of approximately $7 – 12 million dollars.
Robert Jordan of Genesis VII and Chairman of the Board for CareerSource Brevard stated, “I am very pleased with the selection of Ms. Murphy and look forward to many years of rewarding and innovative processes and techniques that will be beneficial to all our employers and employee candidates that are constantly requesting support from CareerSource Brevard.”
As President, Murphy’s role is to lead, facilitate and be the catalyst for CSB’s mission to convene local and regional industry, workforce, education and economic development organizations for the purpose of driving strategic participation to help solve workforce issues in Brevard County.
“I am humbled and honored to have been selected by the CareerSource Brevard Board of Directors to lead such a great organization,” stated Murphy, CareerSource Brevard president.
Murphy joined CSB in 2002. Prior to being named President, Murphy has held the title of Vice President of Operations and, most recently, Interim President for CSB. Her responsibilities included direct accountability for all federal and state programs including planning, execution, control and monitoring as well as collaboration with community partners to implement long range goals and strategies set by the Board of Directors for the organization.
Under her leadership, Murphy provided technical direction, performance oversight and long-range planning of the One-Stop Operator contract and piloted an innovative Business Service Team with a Business to Jobs model that has been recognized nationally. She has contributed to CSB’s sector strategy approach in solving Brevard’s workforce issues by directing sector strategies in the Manufacturing and Healthcare industries on the local and regional levels.

Mr. Jordan continued to say, “The Board is very focused on ensuring that the new manufacturing and technical jobs will be filled mostly by local citizens that are either looking to enhance their skills or want to learn new ones.”

About Marci Murphy, President of CareerSource Brevard:
Before CareerSource Brevard, Murphy was the Product Manager for Identitech in Melbourne, Florida. Her responsibilities included processes oversight for the Product Development Lifecycle and ensuring certification of ISO 9001. She also spent eleven years in program management at Kennedy Space Center for Lockheed Martin and United Space Alliance.
Murphy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Eastern Illinois University and is a 2007 graduate of LEAD Brevard. Additionally, she serves on the Early Learning Coalition Board of Directors, the Children’s Home Society Board of Directors, and is Chair of Florida’s Chief Operating Officers Workforce Committee. She is currently a member of the Workforce Development Council of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and works with Mayor Capote of Palm Bay Florida on workforce initiatives.
Murphy resides in Melbourne Florida and has lived in Brevard for 33 years. She has a daughter and son-in-law that live in Tallahassee Florida.
