SpaceX Preps Rocket for Secret Payload, Parts Supplier Expands and More

Here’s a few things happening this week on the Space Coast:
- Extant Aerospace: The Melbourne-based electronic parts maker and supplier broke ground on Nov. 14 for its planned 54,000-square-foot production and repair center. The company is currently posting jobs for a junior and senior manufacturing engineer, senior supply chain manager, production control planner, repair station test technician and more.
- SpaceX: The Falcon 9 rocket is set to launch on Nov. 15 to boost a secret payload to space for Northrop Grumman Corp. The payload is under the code name Zuma.
- Harris Corp.: The Melbourne-based defense firm is working with the Aerospace Industries Association to host a Workforce/STEM Summit on Nov. 15-16 at the firm’s Technology Center. Government, industry and university leaders will meet to discuss issues and solutions to build the aerospace workforce of the future.
